The purpose of this study was an investigation of the effective factors affecting job satisfaction among FISHERIES extension agents. The study was a survey research, the target population being all the FISHERIES extension agents in IRAN. The sample consisted of 142 FISHERIES Extension agents. The data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS10/WIN software. The results indicated that there was a positive significant relationship between job satisfaction of FISHERIES extension agents and their overtime working hours, incentives, reverence job attraction, creativity, authority in work, responsibility being clearly defined, role unambiguity, responsibility being proportionate with authority, competence of supervision, respect to subordinates, work feedback, normal monitoring, appreciation work performed, support of individual interests, appropriate relationship, respect to each other, sound competition among agents as well a quality of health facilities. The relation ship between job satisfaction and monotonous work was negative and significant. "F" test revealed that FISHERIES extension agents with different levels of job satisfaction varied significantly with respect to such variables as status of employment. Stepwise regression analysis indicated that 40% of variation in job satisfaction of the FISHERIES extension experts was determined by the four variables of: attractiveness of work, appreciation for work, respect for each other and quality of health facilities.
